-Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan, have been arrested in the United States (US). The two were arrested after British authorities issued 38 new charges, including alleged rape.
As reported by the BBC , Sunday (19/7/2026), the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said Andrew was charged with seven additional counts of rape, as well as charges related to sex trafficking and indecent images of children.
The charges against Tristan include two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. The total number of charges against the two brothers now stands at 59, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire police said.
The alleged abuses are said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017. The Tate family has previously denied any wrongdoing.
Following the Tate brothers’ arrest, prosecutors will begin legal proceedings to extradite the two to the UK, who have dual British-US citizenship.
“This prosecution decision follows the receipt of additional evidence from Bedfordshire Police and brings the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven,” said Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crimes Division at the CPS.
Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Police have been investigating a number of offences in what they described as a “complex investigation”.
