Chinese actress fights back after online accusations trigger massive controversy on Weibo
Chinese actress Jing Tian has strongly denied shocking online rumors accusing her of involvement in a massive overseas surrogacy and extortion scandal.
The controversy exploded across Chinese social media on Thursday after a leaked “surrogacy agreement” began circulating on Weibo. The documents quickly sparked speculation that the actress mentioned in earlier celebrity gossip reports was Jing Tian.
The viral allegations claimed a famous actress demanded 300 million RMB from a wealthy boyfriend as part of a surrogacy arrangement. Reports also alleged the woman later refused to undergo egg retrieval procedures and demanded an additional 50 million USD.
The claims immediately triggered intense online discussion.
Chinese entertainment gossip accounts connected the rumors to an earlier paparazzi report involving a “top-tier actress” known for a “pure image,” connections to wealthy backers and a highly publicized past relationship scandal.
Many social media users quickly pointed toward Jing Tian because of similarities in the description.
The controversy escalated further after screenshots of an alleged English-language agreement appeared online. The documents reportedly included the name “Tian Jing” and signatures that some users claimed resembled Jing Tian’s past public autographs.
Viral Claims Spark Huge Online Backlash
The leaked content alleged the wealthy boyfriend had already paid a $100,000 deposit and 30 million RMB before arranging luxury accommodations and a private jet to transport the actress to Los Angeles for egg retrieval procedures.
According to the online rumors, the woman later refused the medical process, citing health reasons, before demanding another 50 million USD.
The unverified reports claimed the relationship collapsed after the man rejected the additional payment demand.
However, no official evidence confirming the authenticity of the documents has been released publicly.
Jing Tian’s studio responded quickly as the rumors spread across Chinese social media platforms.
The actress’s agency strongly denied the accusations and called the online claims “false rumors and malicious fabrication.”
The statement warned that the allegations seriously damaged Jing Tian’s reputation and confirmed that lawyers had already started legal investigations.
The studio also warned social media users against spreading unverified information online.
“The internet is not a lawless zone,” the statement said while urging the public not to create or spread rumors.

Fans Rally Behind Jing Tian
Fans quickly defended the actress online after the statement was released.
Many supporters accused gossip bloggers and paparazzi accounts of spreading damaging rumors without proof.
Comments supporting Jing Tian flooded social media, with users posting messages such as “Stop spreading rumors” and “Support Jing Tian in protecting her rights.”
Jing Tian has remained one of China’s most recognizable actresses for years and often attracts public attention because of her celebrity relationships and entertainment industry connections.
Her past relationship with Chinese table tennis star Zhang Jike also became a major public controversy after reports linked him to gambling debts and leaked private photos.
That scandal drew intense media attention and deeply affected Jing Tian’s public image at the time.
The latest allegations have once again placed the actress at the center of a major online storm.
Legal experts say celebrity defamation cases involving social media rumors have increased rapidly in China in recent years as gossip accounts compete for online traffic and viral attention.
As of now, authorities have not announced any official criminal investigation related to the alleged surrogacy claims.
The authenticity of the leaked documents also remains unverified.
