Brazil’s G1 news network reported earlier today that federal police had gone to Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, the eldest son of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, with a search and seizure warrant. The Supreme Court issued the statement after Bolsonaro performed his duty at his residence.
“The information that any search and seizure warrant was issued or executed against Senator Flavio Bolsonaro or his residence is false,” the Supreme Court said in a statement.
Agence France-Presse previously reported that Brazil’s Supreme Court had banned Bolsonaro from leaving the country and ordered him to surrender his passport. An investigation is underway against him for corruption and money laundering. With his defeat in this election, he will also lose his immunity as a member of Congress.
