Xie Zhanrong revealed that he does everything personally, from pruning street trees to setting up the stage, without relying on his father.

The film “Useful Man”, which won the Best Director Award at the Busan International Film Festival, held its star premiere and meet-and-greet ceremony at the Golden Horse Film Festival today (7th). Director Li Yunchan led the lead actors Yang Yizhan, Zhang Shiying, Xie Zhanrong, Chen Pinnan, Zhu Yunzhen and veteran actor Liang Xiushen to participate and interact with the audience.

As a second-generation star, Xie Zhanrong performed brilliantly in the film. Talking about his father, Xie Xuewu, he revealed that his father often worked in mainland China when he was a child and did not return to Taiwan until he was in junior high school. The father and son go through a period of conflict in the beginning, but now they get along like a conversation and communication between two adults.

At present, Tse Zuvu needs Tse Chin Wing to pay the rent himself, which also makes him realize the hard work from all walks of life. To earn a living and improve his acting skills, he worked many odd jobs during his non-film periods, including setting the stage for the Zhu Zongqing Percussion Orchestra, pruning street trees, and performing concert rehearsal work. “People will think that I can only do it for 1 or 2 days because of my status, but when they see me doing it for a month, they will know that I am really short of money.”

Director Li Yunchen revealed that before the audition, Hsieh used a wheelchair to walk around Taipei for 2 or 3 days to do homework for the role. He said that even if he did not get the role in the end, a serious attitude is necessary. “I score 120 points for every role. Only in this way can I become worthy of myself.” Yang Yizhan praised Xie Zhanrong’s acting skills beyond her age, saying that she didn’t need to be taught at all, which made her feel very wonderful.
